Products Liability
A defective product may cause injury to its users or others who come in contact with it. When a product of any type is wrongfully designed or manufactured, and someone is injured, that may be the basis of a lawsuit alleging product liability. Jeffrey Friedman represents injured people in federal court and in state court in their product liability cases.
Whistleblower Lawsuits
When someone with knowledge that false or fraudulent claims for payment are being submitted to the government, that may be the basis of a whistleblower lawsuit. These types of cases are also referred to as False Claim Act cases or Qui Tam lawsuits. Jeffrey Friedman represents individual private citizens who bring these cases (on behalf of themselves and the government) in an attempt to recover damages as a result of these false and fraudulent claims. Private citizens with information concerning fraudulent billing to Medicare or other governmental agency may be eligible to bring a false claim act case and recover a portion of the proceeds for him or herself.
Workers' Compensation
When someone is injured at work, they may be entitled to the benefits of the workers' compensation laws. Sudden accidents as well as repetitive trauma, such as carpal tunnel syndrome, may allow the victim to receive benefits. These benefits may include payment while off from work, payment of medical bills, and an amount for the permanent disability suffered. Jeffrey Friedman represents individuals before the Illinois Industrial Commission in their workers' compensation claims.
